Microsoft Paint was
loved by us as children, and honestly, it’s the only thing that has kept our
spirits alive all this time. Yes, we now have Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop,
but they’re no Microsoft Paint.

Last Sunday, Thomas
Reisenegger, 31-year-old indie game marketer, paid homage to Microsoft Paint by utilizing Apple’s Shortcuts app.
He redesigned the app icons on his home screen that resembled Microsoft Paint,
giving us a strangely satisfying feeling and glorious results, to say the least!

He also drew a cutesy
hand-drawn Snapchat ghost and Twitter bird!

Do you know that the
process was actually quite fast? He revealed that all of this took him roughly
50 minutes. He took some time to figure out how to draw customized icons. Some
time was also distributed in figuring out how the Apple pencil connects with
the device.

It’s important to know
that only iOS 14 allows the customization of app icons. You have to use these
apps to swap out the icons.

Anyway, you have to agree
that Reisenegger’s design looks fantastic and worthy of applause!

“I
thought it was quite funny and I’m very glad people seem to appreciate and honor
the ancient legacy of MS paint. Also, I’m of course very glad to see that it
made people smile.”
– He said.
