Amazing upgrades for all the amazing Apple gadgets!
Every year, Apple rolls out an extravagant show attended by thousands of people and watched by millions around the globe. The event is basically the flagship conference for developers, attempting to give a glimpse of all the new updates and versions of the software that your apple devices have like iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, laptops and desktops.
But things were a bit different this year, as nobody attended the event in person. All blame goes to the coronavirus pandemic, Apple had no choice but to exclusively stream it online for the first time in more than 30 years since its inception.
Here are all the big announcements, you must know:
1. iPhone and iPad apps can now run through your Mac device
Apple’s laptops and desktops will now be powered by the company’s own chips rather than running Intel’s processors as it has been for the last 15 years, announced CEO Tim Cook.
With this announcement, Macs will now have the same chips as other devices like iPhone, iPads and Apple Watch. These devices are relatively faster than the existing Apple’s laptops! So, it means Apple’s computers are now upgraded and have become faster, thinner, lighter and more energy-efficient.
It also means developers don’t have to rebuild the apps from square one to make apple’s application compatible for Mac devices. With this new upgrade, apple laptops and desktops can finally be compatible to run iPhone and iPad applications.
The first Mac with the company’s own chips is all set to be released by the end of the year.
2. Apple Watch can now track your sleeping patterns
An upgraded version of the software WatchOS, embedded in your Apple watches, is expected to drop in the fall. With a big new additional feature, your Apple watches will now be able to track you in your sleep – a feature that fitness tracking device ‘Fitbit’ already has.
All you have to do is to download the update and go to bed wearing an Apple watch along with your nightdress! The watch is going to wake you up either with an alarm or jitter on your wrist. You can see and track how long you have been dreaming in your sleep.
3. Apple Watch can also track your hygiene habits
Since there’s a pandemic going on, someone has to watch over our cleaning habits! With the new software version, Apple Watch can now track your hygiene habits like when you wash your hands and how long you need to use soap. A bubbly timer of 20 seconds appears to track the time you’re supposed to massage your hands with the soap entirely. If you’re in a hurry and decide to stop before, the timer will alert you. When your hands are entirely clean, the watch will appreciate you with a tiny tap on the wrist.
4. Now you have the freedom to change the default applications
We know how desperately you want to change those default apps! Well, iOS 14 will finally allow you to change the default browser (Safari) and the default email app (Mail) to any other application you want.
5. A smart doorbell can now recognize the person who is at your door
With the release of iOS 14, you can now stream live who’s at your door through your Apple TV. Once you let the smart doorbell recognize the faces from the pictures stored on your iPhone, the bell will let you know who’s at the door every time they show up.
Sounds interesting! Well, you can expect more as we get more information about Apple’s new remarkable features!
