EA released a blog post yesterday, saying that it will launch an update tomorrow that will make Need for Speed Heat EA’s first title with a cross-platform multiplayer. This feature means that you will be able to play the game with your friends on PC via Origin, Steam, PS4, and Xbox One.
You will have to update the game and turn on the option of cross-play. If you forget to do so as soon as the game is updated, you will have to go back to the privacy settings later to switch on the feature.
Need for Speed will be available on EA Access and Origin Access game subscription services on June 16th.
The company has also brought many other games to Steam last week so now you do not have to use its Origin launcher if you want to switch to your PC.
EA has not commented on the Need for Speed games but strong rumors suggest that they will be designed by Burnout creator Criterion Games.
