Facebook removed 200 accounts that were part of white supremacist groups who were gathering supporters to protest against the anti-racism protesters. All the accounts were connected to two hate groups called Proud Boys and the American Guard, which are already banned on Facebook.
Facebook said that the accounts were being monitored and a large number of posts were shared regarding protests against the Black Lives Matter movement. Some accounts also encouraged the use of weaponry, according to a company official.
