Elon Musk, Richest Man in the World, Urges People to Use Signal App

Elon Musk, owner of
Tesla and SpaceX has streamed past Jeff Bezos to become the richest person in
the world. And you know what… deservingly so! All that man does is take action
to colonize Mars and post memes all day.

Before dissecting how
he became the richest person in the world, let’s focus on what he has to say
about the instant messaging app Signal. Why is he urging people to switch gears
and stop using WhatsApp? What is so fascinating and gripping about Signal?
Considering he’s now the richest man in the world, he must and should have
something valuable to offer as an advice!

Well, Musk has asked
his fans to use the privacy-focused messaging app called Signal as he believes
WhatsApp forces users to agree on controversial terms and conditions and that
is no way to treat your customers.

Last Thursday, Tesla
and SpaceX owner made a vague tweet which said “Use Signal”. At first, you’d
wonder what the man is up to but here’s the context. He made the tweet at a
time when WhatsApp was trending for, of course, all the wrong reasons.

The trend emerged on
top because of its new privacy policy. Apparently, the Facebook-owned messaging
app will compel its users to agree to some bizarre policies on the 8th
of February and those who’d refuse to accept them would most likely lose all
data, including past messages and contacts.

According to the latest
terms and conditions, all the private data gathered by WhatsApp, i.e., IP
address and phone number, will be shared on their Facebook.

In a very “Musky”
fashion, the man shared a meme putting spotlight on Facebook’s latest
inadequacies. He highlighted how the portal threatens its users, and honestly,
it was bang on!

The man is not
targeting Facebook for the first time – you know, just because he’s the richest
person in the world – he actually called the website “lame” last February. This
criticism was followed with a hashtag #DeleteFacebook which was, again,
referencing a privacy-based controversy.

Do you know that SpaceX
and Tesla don’t have official Facebook pages? Elon Musk actually ordered for
them to be taken down back in 2018!
In fact, at the time, he even claimed that
he had no idea of their presence on the platform!

He clarified on
Twitter: “I don’t use FB and never have.
So don’t think I’m some kind of martyr or my companies are taking a huge blow.”

LOL! He wanted people
to know how pathetic Facebook truly is! (Of course, Hayvine doesn’t believe
that so do like our page and get the latest updates on 2021 gadgets and movies)

Anyway, Musk said that
he’s not trying to make a political statement, much to everyone’s assumptions.
He also said that nobody asked him not to join either, it’s just a personal
preference, and he doesn’t like the platform as much. He apologetically added
that Facebook gives him “willies”.

Recently, he even
blamed Facebook for the US Capitol Riots. He shared a meme and captioned it “The
Domino Effect” and we don’t think he’s wrong. If nothing else, you’ll at least
have a good laugh over it because his meme was better than the Kendall Jenner
meme that was everywhere during the horrible attack.

And only a few hours
after posting that meme, he was declared the richest man in the world – A
win-win!

Well, obviously, he
didn’t become the richest man by sharing that meme. He took over Bezos after
Tesla’s shares increased, making his personal net worth over $185bn. Bezos held
the spot for the last three years, and so it’s nice to see someone else take
over, and have fun while doing so.

Tesla is now the only
car company whose worth is more than Toyota, Volkswagen, Hyundai, GM and Ford
combined. However, it’s essential to realize that Tesla isn’t the only
dividends upon which Musk’s entire wealth is dependent on. He’s got SpaceX and
Boring Company under his name – two risky companies that show his passions and
interests.

The news of him coming
out as a billionaire is honestly fascinating because last May he complained
that he is “cash poor” and that he was forced to sell his physical possessions.
Due to this decision, he also said that he’d be left with no house.

Basically, he was
trying to say that he had no money for fancy holidays – you know, those fancy
holiday villas and private beaches… we wouldn’t know, these are rich people
problems.

Back in 2019, he
responded to a fan, and from that response, we can understand his true ambitions.
He did manage to mark some of those goals off the list this year!

“About
half my money is intended to help problems on Earth & half to help
establish a self-sustaining city on Mars to ensure continuation of life (of all
species) in case Earth gets hit by a meteor like the dinosaurs or WW3 happens
& we destroy ourselves
.”

And
you know what? We think he’s now going in the right direction because he has
started asking people where he can donate his money. The man is late to the
party but we’re glad he’s here. He intends to donate his money to charities and
causes he cares about. For this he even asked his followers on Twitter for a
genuine feedback.

He said: “Btw, critical feedback is always super
appreciated, as well as ways to donate money that really make a difference (way
harder than it seems)”

So far, it seems that he hasn’t
made the decision but we hope that he helps people and makes generous donations
