Felix Rieseberg – Slack developer, has altered Mac OS 8 nothing but into an app which you can download and install on your PC or Mac.

This isn’t the first time he has achieved a feat like this. Back in 2018, he transformed Windows 95 into an app and now he turned the whole 1991 Macintosh Quadra with Mac OS 8.1 into one complete Electron app.

It includes a series of games and apps as well all thanks to the old 1997 MacWorld demo CD. It doesn’t matter if you have macOS, Windows, or Linux, you can still download and install it.

This app is designed completely in JavaScript. The usage of virtual machine is observed to outdo a Macintosh Quadra 900 with the Motorola CPU Apple that was used prior to its transition to IBM’s PowerPC chips.

Riesenberg feat is highly commendable as you can now run the best games such as Duke Nukem 3D, Dungeons & Dragons, Civilization II, Oregon Trail, Alley 19 Bowling, etc. In fact, you also find a number of apps preinstalled in the app, including Premiere 4, Photoshop 3, Stuffit Expander, Illustrator 5.5, and Apple’s Web Page Construction Kit, etc. It’s truly an all-rounded app!

Furthermore, you may find Netscape and Internet Explorer already installed on the app. But the only problem is that they’re old versions – so old that you may not even open Google.

However, you’ve got to agree that this app is exceptional and it’s impressive how a Mac OS’s 90s version has JavaScript running successfully!
