Nike just made it easier to get in and out of sneakers with its latest release, Nike GO FlyEase. Okay, now you’re going to say how are laceless, slip-on shows SO great? Well, they’re not really perfect because, at the end of the day, you do require your hand to get in and out of them.

Here’s the thing: the Nike GO FlyEase is the first sneaker to come out of the Swoosh’s FlyEase department that focuses on creating innovative sneakers. The design is a beauty and unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.
By watching Nike’s video announcement, you can tell that with this release, it’s onto something. You can follow the kicking action, like many others, to get in and out of the sneakers. By using the bi-stable hinge and a midsole tensioner, the sneakerheads can be slid into and kicked down. You can even slide out or take it off following the same action – without having to use your hands.

The show was initially designed to make life easy for those with disabilities because the technology helps anyone and everyone to wear shoes, making it inclusive.
“We talked to women who were in their third trimester of pregnancy and bending over is not so easy. But this innovation makes it easier for her to kick on and kick off her shoes.” – says Nike FlyEase designer and Paralympic triathlete Sarah Reinertsen.
This is helpful to anyone and everyone who’s been on the go and is constantly hustling; no more do they have to worry about dropping things on the ground while they make a run for it.
At the very first glance, you may feel that the sneaker is a bit fragile and unstable – of course, what do you expect from a sneaker that folds across the center of the midsole? It makes you question its durability, right?
Here’s your answer by Reinertsen: “This Tensioner Band is made out of something we've used for our outsoles. We're applying it in a new way, but we still put it through rigorous wear-testing. We're also doing it on machines, which put it through the ringer more than a human can.”
It looks like Nike is still confident about its durability, but did you notice that it couldn’t really give us an exact number or distance?
Like, before buying any new shoe, we ask how much can it be worn? How much longer can we expect it to last? The fact is that most high-end shoes are expected to last between 300 to 500 miles, after which replacement is recommended. But something tells us that this recommendation might come early in the case of GO FlyEase.
