Due to the pandemic, many workers have lost their jobs. Daily wage earners were the first ones who lost their positions. People even took the streets to protest in the beginning as they have families to look after and bills to pay. Without a job, how were they supposed to meet basic requirements?
Considering the severity of the problem, many restaurant chains opened their doors to not just the customers but also new employees.
Here is a list of 8 restaurant chains that are hiring a total of 100K employees.

Dunkin’
On Monday, Dunkin’ revealed that it’s looking for 25,000 people to hire for its first-ever National recruitment campaign. In fact, these aren’t just entry-level jobs; many positions to be filled include managerial positions.

Papa John’s
Papa John’s was amongst the first brand that announced the hiring of employees during COVID-19 on March 23rd. It’s been months ever since and it’s still employing people for positions like delivery drivers, cooks, etc.

Pizza Hut
On the same date as Papa John’s, Pizza Hut announced the hiring of permanent employees in its restaurant chain. It announced the requirement of 30,000 people.
“Given the increased demand we’re seeing for delivery, we’re hiring new team members to help us feed America.” – said Kevin Hochman, president of Pizza Hut US.
Chipotle
On May 8th, Chipotle had announced over it’s LinkedIn page that it will be hiring 10,000 people in the next couple of months. The jobs will include all positions from top to bottom
Taco Bell
In a press release, Taco Bell announced that it will be hiring over 30,000 over the summer.
“During these tough times, we want job-seekers to know that we’re hiring and we’re safe” – Said Kelly McCulloch, Taco Bell’s chief people offices.
Domino’s
Back in March, Domino’s announced that it will hire approximately 10,000 people.
“Our corporate and franchise stores want to make sure they’re not only feeding people, but also providing opportunity to those looking for work at this time, especially those in the heavily-impacted restaurant industry.” Said – Richard Allison, Domino’s chief executive officer.
Raising Cane’s
This Chicken chain promised on May 5th that it will be bringing 5000 new people on board.

Part of that commitment is providing good jobs, and we wouldn’t be able to do that without our continued success and growth.” – Said AJ Kumaran, the chain’s co-chief executive officer and chief operating officer.
Sonic Drive-In
Sonic took to LinkedIn to make 14,500 new job placements. It was also reported that this food chain had the highest number of entry-level job postings!
