The official statement released says, “Over the course of this afternoon, the condition of the Prime Minister has worsened and, on the advice of his medical team, he has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital.”

As of now, Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has taken over his duties as a substitute.

Lewis Goodall of BBC tweeted, “Before [Johnson] went he asked Dominic Raab to deputize for him. As far as Coronavirus is concerned, Raab is the effective acting Prime Minister.”

He continued, “Question will be whether, if the PM gets worse, the PM may have to temporarily resign and someone take full responsibilities of the office. Assuming the PM is in intensive care, there will be, assuming recovery, a period of convalescence which could take some time.”

By 3:30 Pm, Goodwill added a tweet, informing that the PM was conscious, but in the ICU as he required ventilation for recovery.

The Prime Minister of UK tested positive for COVID-19 on March 27th.
