Despite all the claims by the President saying that the virus will “just vanish” and “go away soon”, it is still here and is responsible for a lot of deaths in the world. At least 20 states in the United States are witnessing a rise in the infections once again and experts have warned that the conditions for lockdown should be implemented once more or the situation will worsen.
“This is the most predictable health outcome since the CDC published its landmark study "Health projections and inflammation results of sticking' your penis in that hornet's nest” Late Show host Stephen Colbert joked on Wednesday.
However, Mike Pence decided that the wise move to take away all the blame from the government would be to put it on the increase in testing. Apparently, everyone in Trump’s government is a champion of medical science and this is probably why Pence was so confident when he said that there is no second wave. It reminds us of how Trump and co refused to believe in the existence of the virus until it killed hundreds and thousands of people in the US.
“Great news for all the thousands of people who checked into hospitals this week — you can go home! Turns out you were faking it for all the free pudding,” quipped Colbert.
“Now keep in mind, Pence is the same medical genius who only 20 years ago wrote an article arguing that "despite the hysteria from the political class and the media, smoking doesn't kill,” said Colbert. “You do not want Mike Pence as your doctor.”
Well,
Pence is not all wrong. We have not entered the second wave of the virus
because we are still stuck in the first. “That's like saying, Honey, I promise
I'm not going to cheat on you again because I never stopped cheating on you the
first time,” said Colbert.

Colbert also decided to take a look at the new book called The Room Where It Happened which was written by former national security advisor John Bolton. Trump has sued the book and is striving to ban the publication so everyone is super interested. “This afternoon several newspapers published excerpts,” said Colbert. “And — I can't believe I'm saying this — it's worse than even I imagined.”
