Ahh, what a loving morning… It’s time to pour a perfect bowl of sweet Cinnamon Toast Crunch with milk. Wait a minute…. What is that? Is it a wrongly-shaped piece or a weird clumpy sugar cluster? What more do you expect from a packet of sweet Cinnamon Toast Crunch? Well, it turns out that it’s a shrimp tail – a hollow shrimp tail covered in cinnamon. Eww.
Now, just like us, your first reaction would also be “ewww” or “gross!” Well, at least that’s what Los Angeles-based comedian, Jensen Karp claimed to find in the box of his Cinnamon Toast Crunch on Monday. He also claimed to find little black specks similar to rat poop and some green-colored pea-sized items.
Try as hard as you can, but it’s impossible to come up with a more gross food combo than shrimp and Cinnamon Toast. Not a single sane person would want to have that, that too in their breakfast.
Karp tweeted a photo of this weird surprise in his cereal, captioning it by “Why are there shrimp tails in my cereal?” This picture triggered a wave of reactions from the Twitteratis, who’re expressing their concerns and explanations in the way they know best: Memes.
Here’s how netizens are reacting to the world’s strangest food combo ever:
First of all see how it all started:

Soon, his followers started speculating whether he’s telling the truth. Many said that the things found in the cereal was just clustered sugar. In short, people were not really buying it. We mean, how on earth could there be a shrimp tail in a cinnamon Toast cereal? It doesn’t make any sense, right? Well, things started getting weirder from there!
We don’t know what’s more shocking: finding a shrimp tail in the cereal or learning that Cinnamon Toast Shrimp guy (Karp) is married to Danielle Fishel (the girl who played Topanga Lawrence in “Boy Meets World” and “Girl Meets World.”)
Anyways, Karp later found a series of strange material other than the bits, such as specks and other unidentified green-colored material. And the most shocking part was that he ate an entire bowl of it before discovering them… Yuck!
Ok, we’ll after further investigation with my eyes, these are cinnamon coated SHRIMP TAILS, you weirdos. I wasn’t all that mad until you now tried to gaslight me? https://t.co/7DmADmoqUt pic.twitter.com/rSLE60pvoy

I was convinced to go back through the bag, since when I first noticed the shrimp tails, I freaked out and closed the box. Here’s all my findings, which also now includes a weird little string? pic.twitter.com/mRDUhqG3I8

I can’t get over this guy getting into bed, thinking about how crazy his life has become since he found shrimp in his CTC, laughing about the absurdity of it all, then rolling over and there is Topanga

Apparently, Karp even got the shrimp tails tested to clear the confusion. Meanwhile General Mills, the cereal company who produces Cinnamon Toast Crunch (with Shrimp, of course), released a statement after rising consumers’ concerns, stating that issue didn’t seem to appear from their facility.
“While we are still investigating this matter, we can say with confidence that this did not occur at our facility,” said Mike Siemienas, a representative of General Mills.
“We are waiting for the consumer to send us the package to investigate further. Any consumers who notice their cereal box or bag has been tampered with, such as the clear tape that was found in this case, should contact us.”
While we wait for the results – none of which are expected to be pleasant – at least we have memes. And nothing can beat shrimp in the cereal memes!

Something regarding the stupid “Did he fake this?” take: there are black items COOKED ONTO the squares and tons of it at the bottom of the bag, in addition to shrimp tails and other SUGAR COATED junk. Also, it’s only “viral” because of their insane response. I would’ve dropped it pic.twitter.com/WOt9j2V0sg
