iCarly, the popular Nickelodeon sitcom that basically inspired thousands of YouTubers and vbloggers of today’s age, is now getting a fresh revival on Paramount Plus.
The original iCarly series was premiered in September 2007 and ran for six seasons and 97 episodes before concluding in November 2012. The series followed a young student Carly Shay, who went viral after uploading an audition tape on the internet along with his two best friends. Following the success, they later started a webcast while dealing with their usual problems and issues.

The show became an instant success and received well among the audiences. It is believed to have broken all major rating records for Nickelodeon during its original runtime.
Considering that all big media channels are desperate to create their own streaming offerings, it’s no surprise that the revival series will be streamed on Paramount Plus instead of Nickelodeon.
The announcement of reboot Nickelodeon show was made on December 9, and all the original cast of iCarly is expected to reprise their roles in the upcoming reboot series.

What is the cast of iCarly reboot?
Various reports suggest that Miranda Cosgrove (who played Carly), Jerry Trainor (who played Spencer) and Nathan Kress (who played Freddie) are all said to reprise their roles for the reboot series.
Wait…. what about Jennette McCurdy and Noah Munck, who played Carly’s best friend Sam and Gibby respectively?
The two have their hands full with other projects and it seems like they are not returning for the iCarly adult version series. Jennet McCurdy came out in one interview, revealing his struggles with eating disorder during the filming of original series. So, she may not have good memories associated with the show as her fellow-actors had.
Munck, on the other hand, is occupied with his role in The Golbergs, which may restrict him to sign up for a new show. Although, fans have been desperately waiting for his character revival ever since the revival was announced, so there’s still a possibility that the series creators might convince him over.
The original cast of the show has been pretty tight-lipped on social media following the revival announcement. However, Miranda uploaded a photo that seemed to be from the show’s set. While talking to a media organization, she said, “iCarly was a huge part of my childhood and I have so many memories from my time making the show, I feel like I grew up alongside the viewers.” she hoped that all the original cast would return for the revival series. “The new show is mainly being made with all the original fans in mind. Although we hope families will enjoy it together, this version of the show will be more mature and follow our lives now.”
When will the show release?
The production of the revival series is not believed to have started yet, but this does not rule out the possibility of show release in 2021. iCarly is going to be the first-ever original show from Paramount Plus, the streaming platform is a rebranded version of CBS All Access, directly competing with other streaming services such as Peacock and HBO Max.

What is the plot of the show?
The official details about the plot haven’t been announced yet. Still, we do believe that the series will most likely be based on young people experimenting with vblogging, TikTok and other social media tactics to have their stronghold in the world of influencers.
