2019 was a difficult year for all of us. This year has not gotten off to a good start either with world war three, the possibility of another plague and of course, climate change. We can only cope with all of this in the best way we know- by ignoring all of our problems and waiting for the latest TV series and movies.

In terms of entertainment news, 2020 does offer some hope for the future. So, let’s not think about the impending doom just yet. Take a look at these trailers and bask in the glory of ignorance!

1. Black Widow

After years of requests, Marvel is finally working on the new Black Widow movie, featuring Scarlet Johansson. This week, Marvel released another teaser for the movie that finally revealed the antagonist. You can also see some of Black Widow’s origin story, where she is reunited with her trained killer family, trying to break out of the profession.

However, she fights off with an army of widows, as well as the main villain- the Taskmaster. The taskmaster featured in the 1980s The Avengers #196 comic, where he was described as a villain who learned his ability to master any task, just by watching someone perform it, at a tender age. However, as he grew up, he used his gifts for evil, while learning the style of enemies to defeat them with ease.

In the Black Widow trailer, there seems to be a discrepancy in the costume of the Taskmaster from how it is described in the original comic. However, he does carry his original sword and shield, which is pretty evident in the trailer’s footage. Let’s wait and see what the movie brings. The expected date of release for Black Widow is May 1st, 2020.

2. Guns Akimbo

Let’s face it, if we can watch Daniel Radcliffe play a corpse for one and a half hour, we can watch him in anything. However, his new movie, Guns Akimbo, is much better than we expected. This action comedy film features the star in a new light, where he plays an internet troll who ultimately ends up having to fight an unknown individual, played by the gorgeous Samara Weaving, with guns bolted to his hand. The movie will be released on March fifth, 2020.

5. The Goop Lab with Gwenyth Paltrow

Gwenyth Paltrow is a star of another controversy with her new Netflix short series, The Goop Lab With Gwenyth Paltrow. This six-episode series features strange healing practices in each episode ranging from psychedelics, cold therapy, female pleasure, anti-ageing, energy healing and psychics. The show has already generated a lot of public opinions, even though it has not yet been released. People are more concerned about the loose usage of the term, ‘Lab’, as well as the fact that Netflix is supporting pseudo-science on this show.

Some people also believe that this is just another attempt by Paltrow to manipulate women and profit off of their money. Regardless, we would still be watching the show, when it will be released on January 24th, 2020. For scientific reasons of course!
