The cat is finally out of the bag and Buckingham Palace - London! *Meghan Markle bullying allegations*

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s much-anticipated interview with Oprah Winfrey aired on CBS last night, and boy was it worth the hype if you don't know about the previous Royal aides claim and other concerns by Jason Knauf (former aide) back in October 2018!

The interview is the first time the couple has spoken out since stepping back as the senior members of Royal Family, where they revealed shocking details about their sufferings at the hands of the Royal family and British tabloids.

The interview was much like a rant session of a daughter-in-law and Duchess of Sussex, who is disrespected, discriminated against, and treated like an outsider by the most prestigious and respected family in the United Kingdom. But the best thing is that she has the support of her husband all along (something that Princess Diana had longed for).

In the interview (recollections may vary), Meghan revealed how she was having suicidal thoughts during her stay with the Royal family, and how the members were worried about the skin color of Meghan’s unborn child, and much more – and we haven’t even started scratching the surface!

Meghan went in completely blind when starting her Royal life

Meghan revealed that she was very ‘naïve’ when she joined the Royal family, stating that she had never even bothered Googling Harry before she met him. She said that she “didn’t fully understand what the job was” or the difference between the Royals and any other celebrities.

“As Americans especially, what do you know about the Royals? It’s what you read in fairy tales is what you know about the Royals. It’s easy to have an image of it that is so far from reality,” she said.

It was actually Kate who made Meghan cry!

Few months into their marriage, the British tabloids published a story that during their wedding prep, Meghan had done something to make Kate cry.

But according to Meghan, “the reverse happened!” Ahead of the wedding, the two had an intense argument over flower girl dresses that led Meghan into tears. “Few days before the wedding, she was upset about something – the subject really was flower girl dresses – she made me cry and hurt my feelings,” the duchess said.

But she has had no bad blood with her sister-in-law, who owned her mistake and apologized by giving her a note and a flower. But she neither spoke out nor did anything when the incorrect story was reported months later—perhaps because the Palace didn’t want anyone to correct the narrative, leading to mental health issues for Meghan.

Meghan added that she was only revealing the story so the world could “understand the truth,” and not to berate Kate “because she’s a good person.”

British tabloids needed a hero and villain narrative!

It was kinda obvious that British media criticizes Meghan for the same thing they praise Kate for. They treated the two differently as if they “want a narrative of a hero and a villain.” And it’s sad that the media wanted Meghan to be the villain.

Issues Raised: After marriage, Meghan was forced into isolation

During Harry Meghan Oprah interview Meghan reveals that when the press went wild and aggressive around Meghan in the first few months of her marriage, Meghan revealed that she was forced to remain in isolation in the palace – something she related to quarantine-like experiences people have gone through in the last year.

During Harry Meghan interview, she revealed that her belongings like her passport, driver’s license, and keys were confiscated on her arrival at the Palace. She wasn’t allowed to hang out with her friends because she was “oversaturated” in the media.

Prince Harry Meghan Interview: The first intimidating meeting with Queen Elizabeth

Markle recalled being blown away at how intimidating her first conversation with the Queen Elizabeth was. The meeting took place at Windsor Castle shortly after she started dating her grandson, Harry. She recalled Harry instructing her, “My grandmother’s there – you’re going to meet her… Right, do you know how to curtsy?”

The Suits famed star said, “That was really the first moment that the penny dropped.”

She initially believed that the meeting would be informal like any other meeting with a guy’s grandmother. “I thought genuinely that that was what happens outside – I thought that was part of the fanfare. I didn’t think that’s what happens inside. I said, ‘But it’s your grandmother.’ ‘It’s the queen.’”

After a quick guide with Harry and a few other members of the Royal family, Markle said “Apparently, I did a very deep curtsy.”

The Palace wanted to strip son Archie off his title and security even before he was born

“They didn’t want him to be a Prince,” the Duchess told Winfrey about the concerns Royal Family had regarding the birth of their child, Archie.

“Which would be different from protocol, and that he wasn’t going to receive security.”

She added during Harry and Meghan interview with Oprah Winfrey, “We have in tandem the conversation of, ‘He won’t be given security. He’s not going to be given a title.’”

She was also disappointed with the members trying to undermine her just because she is the first member of color in this family. “The idea of the first member of color in this family not being titled in the same way that other grandchildren would be… it’s not their right to take it away,” she said, “They said they wanted to change that conversation for Archie – well, why?” 

Royal members were concerned about Archie’s skin color

One of the most shocking revelations from the interview was when Markle revealed that an anonymous member of the Royal family expressed concern over Archie’s skin color – even before he was born. This left Oprah speechless and shocked.

She told Oprah that there were “concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.” She also noted that the concerns weren’t expressed directly to her but to Prince Harry.

Meghan was suicidal during her stay in the palace

The criticism and harsh treatment by the Royal family and British tabloids became so intense that they drove Markle to consider suicide. “I just didn’t see a solution,” she shared. “I realized it was all happening just because I was breathing.

I was really ashamed to say it at the time and ashamed to admit it to Harry, especially because I knew he had suffered. But I knew that if I didn’t say it – then I would do it.

I just didn’t want to be alive anymore. That was a clear and real and frightening and constant thought.”

She wasn’t allowed to take professional help

To further add salt to her suffering, the palace made it incredibly difficult for her to take professional help while battling with suicidal thoughts. “I went to one of the most senior people to get help,” she said, claiming that she was told “there is nothing we can do to help you because you are not a paid member of the institution” and that getting treatment “wouldn’t be good for the institution.”

While talking about her pregnancy, Meghan revealed that they are expecting a daughter. She’s due in summer, and this is going to be their last baby, the couple said.
