Disney just dropped the trailer for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, which is slotted to release on 18th October. This October; viewers will again take a trip to the land of Maleficent, where crows magically turn into humans with a flick of a finger, where true love triumphs all and where magical creatures are usual.
Angelina Jolie (Maleficent), being the godmother to Elle Fanning (Aurora), reprises her role amidst the backdrop of an impending marriage between Aurora & Prince Philip (Harris Dickinson).
The visually magnanimous spectacles portrayed in the short clip, represent a menacing clash between Maleficent & Queen Ingrith (Michelle Pfeiffer), Aurora’s soon-to-be- mother-in-law. Maleficent being Maleficent, is most definitely that one character that can’t handle rivalry quite well, which causes her to spiral into a pool of vengeful hatred, like in the preceding 2014 movie, Maleficent.
The trailer, however, makes a revelation that the viewers didn’t quite expect. Queen Ingrith is revealed as the real dreaded evil, not Maleficent, as the Queen certainly doesn’t enter the picture with noble intentions. She not only wants to defeat Maleficent but also wants to wipe off all magical creatures off the face of the realm. With a new rival, locking horns with the horned-fairy, she has winged-creatures like her, accompanying her as her allies.
With Angelina Jolie reprising her role as the wicked-god mother, viewers are bound to see larger than life spectacles and for sure are going to root for the love, the compassion and the warmth she holds in her heart for Aurora and for the havoc she’s going to wreck throughout Ulstead & The Moors.
